I Wanna Know is the debut single by Tall Mark & The Squinting Seagulls, a Rock ‘n’ Roll group from Sweden. Led by Markus Johansson, they formed in 2022. This is the first of three singles they plan to release in 2023.
The track is a rousing three-chord Rock ‘n’ Roll number in the vein of Chuck Berry, with a few added influences. The crunchy rhythm guitar is reminiscent of Status Quo’s Rick Parfitt (the band is an influence), chugging alongside the piano lines; The two complimenting each other nicely.
Markus recently told me while recording an interview for the Quo-Cast that this song is a favourite when performed live; It’s easy to see why. Once the lightly sprinkled doo-wop harmony hits within the chorus, you can’t help but join in! The band know the genres they’re inspired by and finds ways to put their stamp on them.
